Our Story
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Development Center, dba the
Hispanic Business Center (HBC), formerly known as HACED (the Hispanic American Center for
Economic Development), is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001 with a vision of
supporting the economic empowerment of the Hispanic community in Georgia. The center was
established by the late Sara J. González, after recognizing the need to help Hispanic
entrepreneurs start their business— subsequently becoming the first-ever business incubator
for Hispanics in the Southeast United States.
For over 17 years, the center has been the educational arm of the Georgia Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce, providing leadership and economic education for small Hispanic
businesses. The center’s commitment to serving the needs of Georgia Hispanic businesses has
continuously guided the progression and evolution of its program development.
